- Location is the entrance of an eminent commercial zone and needs eminent architecture.
- City officials choose for an island location in a small artifical lake.
- Island designed as a half circular area, giving a structure to the unshaped lake. The round side is on the station entrance
front. There’s a large water area and grass slopes. The other side, at the commercial zone, has narrow canals with brick
embankments as in historic Dutch cities. Station entrance and exit via bridges.
- There’s a program with many pump islands, situated next to each other under a longitudinal canopy. This canopy lies
diagonally over the island area. In front of it, a crescent is left for traffic manoeuvres and parking. At the back is a triangular
area for the shop building.
- Beside the shop there’s a carwash tunnel. Where this building meets the island waterside, a high curved wall is designed as a
separation.
