  • Located in the center of a busy road, opposite a concurrent's site.
  • Plan should support the existing urban structure. The different functions (tank, wash, shop) should look like a single building, facing towards the centerline of the two roadsides, in between it is situated.
  • Slanting the canopy upwards, making the customers feel invited to come in. For architectural reasons (unity) the slanted shop roof follows the slanting canopy. Where the higher carwash starts, the roof slants up again, reaching over an existing power unit.
  • Beside a shop there's a do-it-yourself washbox, and a rollover carwash. These open places have a cladding of horizontally profiled, steel plates. The cladding looks technical, opposing the more traditional looking, brick shop building. damsigt
  • The Berkman livery colors of orange, silver and yellow, returns in the orange brickwork, silver cladding, and yellow linings.
  • There are four places to enter or leave. Without a difficult routing organisation at the site, everyone finds his way inside. Because of the opposing competing petrol station this was an important demand.
